My story – or how it all began:

It started when I was 9 years old and we had a regular systematic examination in the 3rd grade of primary school. Everything was going smoothly until I was told to read some lines on the eyechart. I remember the nurse who was doing the examination said to me “yes, you will get glasses”. I burst into tears, she said “It’s not that bad, because many people wear glasses.”. I don’t remember the details, but I remember that everything was great in my head until this examination. I had no problem looking at the board, I could see everything. Therefore, it was not clear to me why this nurse says that I will need glasses, why is she so convinced that I can’t see a line according to her criteria? (Now, of course, I know that these are not her criteria, she was just doing her job and such criteria were set in healthcare.)

Later I went to see an ophthalmologist who measured my eyesight. This word measured is very subjective, as vision itself is subjective (more on that in a separate article). He put a heavy frame on my nose, with different lenses inside, and asked me which line I could see and how I could see it: is it sharp, can I read the letters easily or a little harder? I was a 9-year-old girl, inside I was scared and also angry, why do I have to be at this examination? Because I can see the blackboard at school, I can see the ball when we play ball games and so on. But I participated.

In the end he said that I have -1.25 diopters myopia in both eyes and BEWARE that with these diopters I can see 1.25 cc. What does this last piece of information mean? The abbreviation “cc” means “with correction”, i.e. “with correction / with glasses”, and the number 1.25 indicates visual acuity. So, with these diopters I saw the lowest line of 20/16 very sharply, so I saw too well.

Or to put it another way: the ophthalmologist gave me TOO POWERFUL glasses. To put the numbers in context: if you see a sharp line of 20/20 or 1.0, it means your vision is fine. You don’t need glasses, that’s it. If you want to drive legally, you can see even worse, a line of 20/40 or 0.5.

So, at the age of 9, I got my first glasses, with too high diopters, -1.25 in both eyes. I put them on my nose and had terrible headaches. Everything was spinning. And that lasted about a week. I was told it was normal. Now, of course, I know it wasn’t, but I didn’t know it then, nor did my parents.

After a while I got used to the glasses. And I wore them non-stop because no one told me to only wear them if I couldn’t see clearly in the distance and not for the “close-up” work! But why it is not a good idea to always wear glasses, and at least not too strong? About this I’ll write in another post.

After half a year of wearing the new first glasses, I had an examination again and since I still saw too sharp with them, the lowest line was 20/16 or 1.25, the ophthalmologist said that everything was fine. That these are suitable glasses for me.

A year passed, I was 10 years old, I wore glasses non-stop during the day and I had a new examination. At that time, this same doctor found that my vision had deteriorated in both eyes (yes, how could it not, if you gave me too strong diopters and the eyes adjusted?!?!?!!?) and determined that I have -2.50 diopters in my right eye and with this diopter I can see a sharp 20/12.5 or 1.6. So, again, he gave me a very strong diopters on my right eye. (Why?!) He gave the left eye a smaller diopter -2.00, acuity 20/20 or 1.0.

So now I had diopters on my glasses R: -2.50 L: -2.00 and for the first time the difference between the eyes was 0.50 diopters. My diopter gap was 0.50 diopters.

This is also important information, because from that moment on, I had a difference between my eyes, I had a diopter gap. I no longer had the same diopters; I had a difference between the eyes of 0.50 diopter (2.50 – 2.00 = 0.50).

The following years, when I had an examination once a year, and each time this doctor found that my diopters were increasing. At first only the right eye, then both. Almost every time he gave me such diopters, with which I saw too well, on the eyechart 20/16 line and not 20/20.

5 years later, when I was 14 years old, I was diagnosed with astigmatism for the first time. My myopia diopters were -5.00 in my right eye and -4.25 in my left eye. So, I already had high myopia (or nearsightedness), the difference between the eyes was already 0.75 diopters, and in addition to all this, I now had astigmatism in both eyes of 0.50 cylinders at 171° (right) and 175° (left). But I never wanted correction for astigmatism on glasses, I always only had diopters for myopia.

Here I can thank the ophthalmologist for at least taking me into account here and prescribing me only a correction for spherical diopters (correction to see sharply at a distance) and not for cylindrical diopters (correction for astigmatism).

interesting that during this examination the doctor found that now I have astigmatism in the right eye at a different place, at 179°, and that the astigmatism in the left eye has increased to 0.75 cylinders. Again, I did not want correction for astigmatism, neither on glasses nor on contact lenses. Now I wonder, if the astigmatism changed so much in 5 months, then, what would have happened if I had worn the astigmatism correction on my glasses? Would this artificially suggest to my eyes, and could they adapt to these cylinders, as they do to spherical diopters?

From the age of 15 I started wearing contact lenses, most of the time, I only wore glasses occasionally. I got a feeling of freedom, because when you have contact lenses in your eyes, you can forget that you can’t see clearly, that you are dependent on glasses or contact lenses.

I started to dream that when I grow up, I will have laser eye surgery and I will see clearly again without glasses!

The following years were similar to the previous ones, in the sense that I had annual examinations and slowly the myopia continued to worsen and my diopters continue to increase. Also, the difference between eyes and astigmatism increased.

I have never worn astigmatism correction either on glasses or contact lenses and it is very interesting when I look at my results, how my astigmatism level has changed over the years and also on which side of the eye (on which axis) the astigmatism was. I will write more about this in a separate article. At one point I even had 1.50 cylinders in my right eye and 0.75 cylinders in my left eye.

I had the highest measured myopia at the age of 23, when during a regular check-up they measured -6.25 in my right eye (acuity 20/20 or 1.0) and -5.25 in my left eye (acuity 20/20 or 1.0) . They also determined my astigmatism on completely different axes than a couple of years ago!

So, after 14 years of wearing glasses (later contact lenses), I had very high myopia (R: -6.25 and L: -5.25), I had a difference between the eyes of 1.0 diopters and I had the highest measured astigmatism of 1.50 cylinders in the right eye and 0.75 cylinders in the left eye.

I was totally dependent on glasses or contact lenses as I could only see about 16cm sharp! This is a very small distance, I could neither read a book without glasses, nor cut food on the counter, nor eat, if I even wanted to see what I was cutting and putting on the spoon (the plate on the dining table is usually at least 30 cm away from our eyes, if not more). The one who is without glasses, who sees super sharp with his own eyes, cannot fully understand what problems we face who have high diopters, who have poor vision at a distance, who have nearsightedness or myopia.

The feeling of anxiety if you step out into the street without glasses, anxiety because you can’t see anything! Everything around you is hazy, so many blurred colors, if a person walks by and greets you and you don’t recognize him by his voice, you don’t even know who he is, you don’t even know if he’s looking at you, because when you look at his face, or where the face should be, you only see smudged skin color. You don’t know if a man is looking at you or winking, you are completely lost. And that feeling is terrible.

That you have such “broken” eyes, that you are dependent on glasses or contact lenses and that everyone tells you that your whole life will be like this. To accept.

Or go for laser eye surgery, but at the same time they tell you to watch out for side effects: you can get dry eyes, you can no longer see clearly in the dark, you can have a lot of glare in bright light, you can even go blind, it is possible that your diopters will be restored… Thank you very much for such a result that I pay a lot of money, burn my cornea (or even remove the lens and put an artificial lens inside?!) and then you still can’t give me a 100% guarantee that it will be worth it?

In those years, despite the possible side effects of laser surgery, I was still convinced that I would still save money and go for laser eye surgery. But just then, someone mentioned to me a gentleman named Leo Angart, that he regained his sharp eyesight naturally and that he conducts workshops on this topic every year in our capital. To do some Bates exercises. I told myself that before I consciously risk all the side effects of laser surgery, I should try everything else that is available first. Because maybe I just don’t know what I don’t know 😊

That year, at the age of 24, I attended Leo Angart’s workshop for the first time, which lasted 2 days. It was phenomenal. I got the feeling that my eyes are not damaged, that there are some eye exercises that will restore my sharp vision. I was driven and doing exercises. But then life happened and I stopped practicing. I still had poor vision, was dependent on glasses and was frustrated that I was doing something wrong. Why doesn’t the diopters at least stay a little lower when I “knock it down” with these exercises, why does it return to the original high number (R: -6.25 and L: -5.25)? I gave up eye exercises for a while.

The next 5 years followed, when I felt a lot of frustration, why can’t I regain my sharp vision naturally? Why aren’t the exercises working? What am I doing wrong? Those were the years when I saw better for a few months, then worse again. Those were the years when I was at the sea in the summer, without glasses most days, I regularly did exercises, I noticed an improvement in my vision, I could even read a book without glasses, then I came home to “my life” and my vision slowly returned and worsened. At that time, my work looked like I was at the computer most of the time. I looked at a screen at work and I looked at screens at home. And I was doing all this with glasses with these high diopters for distance.

I had almost given up hope that I would ever regain my sharp vision, I really felt a lot of frustration and was racking my brain as to what I was doing wrong. I do eye exercises, my diopter decreases a little, I see better, but as soon as I stop doing eye exercises, my diopter increases again, my vision worsens.

By nature, I am a very curious person, so I sat down at the computer and started “googling” everything about myopia. I read scientific articles, searched Google Scholar, went through various forums, read everything vividly, just to find out what I was doing wrong. Why do some people claim to have regained their sight with eye exercises, but I did not succeed.

And after long research and reading a lot of literature, forums, other people’s experiences, I got my answer as to what I am doing wrong. All my questions were answered, it clicked for me and I finally knew what I had to do to regain my sharp vision. It’s not about eye exercises, it’s about changing habits! My habits at the time made it impossible for me to regain my sharp vision.

I realized that with the glasses with which I saw a sharp 20/20, which were actually intended for e.g. driving a car, I was looking at a screen 40 cm away! Even before that, from the age of 9 onwards, I used these glasses to look at books, later at the computer, and of course, unknowingly, I increased my diopters. The eyes (and the visual cortex – the brain) adapt, and every time I put on new glasses with a higher diopter, the eyes (and the brain) had to adapt anew.

I was shocked that all this was written in the scientific literature! IT SAYS ALL THAT!!! It is called “lens induced myopia”. Why didn’t anyone tell me this? Why don’t our ophthalmologists know this? Why did 9-year-old girls wear such strong glasses that they put me on the path to very high diopters, high myopia and astigmatism? Why? I really don’t want the answer to be “money makes the world go round”, but let’s leave that debate for now.

From then on, it only got better: I changed my habits and the diopters slowly started to decrease.

When I started on my journey to clear and sharp vision naturally, I had:

  • High myopia or nearsightedness
  • R: -6.25 and L: -5.25
  • A difference between the eyes or the diopter gap of 1.00 diopters
  • Astigmatism 1.50 (right eye) and 0.75 (left eye)

What I have achieved so far:

  • I no longer have astigmatism!
  • I no longer have a difference between my eyes, so I removed the diopter gap between my eyes!
  • I lowered my diopters to -3.25 in both eyes

To repeat, I had diopters R: -6.25 and L: -5.25 and now I have R: -3.25 and L: -3.25!!! In total, I reduced my diopter by 5 full diopters!!! (= R: 3.00 less and L: 2.00 less).

Or if I put it in centimeters: when I started this journey, I could see 16 cm without glasses, now I can see approx. 30 cm.

I extended my field of vision by as much as 14 cm, and the most important thing: both eyes see sharply at the same length! I have no diopter gap anymore!

Why is this important? Because now, when I look without glasses, I look with both eyes, not just one, as often happens when one eye sees further than the other. Regarding my gain of 14 cm, to see sharply in the distance further than I was at the beginning, it might not seem like much to some, but to me it is huge.

Now I can look at my mobile phone without glasses, which I couldn’t before because it was not comfortable. And it’s not just about centimeters and numbers. It’s that even when I’m without my glasses in the morning, I can see details that I didn’t see before. That when I’m swaddling my baby, I can see his face, I can see his facial expressions, I can see if he’s looking at me or not, if he’s smiling or scowling. It’s these little things that you notice first when your vision starts to improve and even before it’s noticeable with a lower diopter number.

And this gives me new inspiration to follow my new habits or changed habits that will lead me to naturally sharp vision. 😊

In what time did I achieve this?

Now I have to disappoint you if you expected an answer in a couple of hours! 😛 No, just as my diopters grew slowly over the years, it also goes the other way. The eye must physically shrink 😊 Based on my experience, all scientific studies and the experiences of people who have successfully regained their sharp 20/20 vision, you can expect an improvement of 0.25 diopters approximately every 3 to 4 months or 0.75 to 1.0 diopters per year (if you stick to certain new habits!). And so, it is with me.

I have changed my habits and my eyes are working on their own. I have changed my habits and am slowly walking the path to sharp vision. I expect that at this rate I will be without glasses in about 2 years.

I’m so excited to finally find what works for me! What works for me, who has very little time, I’m a mother of small children, I’m a wife, I’m an entrepreneur, I look at screens for too much time every day (unfortunately, my professional job is to work with a computer) and if it works for me and for thousands of other people around the world, then it can work for you too!

That’s why I made this website and IG profile to share my journey to 20/20 sharp eyesight with you and to use my experience and knowledge to help you get rid of your glasses (or contact lenses) and get your sharp eyesight back naturally!

Let me emphasize, this is my path, my experience, I believe that I will get clear and sharp eyesight again naturally and if I can, so can you! 😊

First, I used my knowledge and experience to help myself, then my friends and family, and then I started helping everyone else through my website and IG profile in my own country.

So far, there have been many successful stories of children and adults who regained their sharp eyesight naturally. I am thrilled to see the glow in the eyes of people who tell me that with the help of my information, they got rid of their prescription glasses and regained sharp eyesight naturally.

This motivates me to continue on this path and spread the information further. That is why I started this new website in English so I can reach and help even more people.

Will you join me on this journey?
